Tropical Pleasures, Bahamian Style

Beyond The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort, there are countless things to see and do in The Bahamas. Atlantis is a vast ocean-themed casino/resort on Paradise Island, and we did a day trip there to enjoy the adults-only enclave at The Cove, a luxurious property within the larger resort.

A beach club with four multi-level pools, the Cove Pool offers daybeds, private cabanas, entertainment, and outdoor gaming. The food, the drinks, and the vibe are all awesome. Definitely luxe.

We also did a private half-day boat charter on Flying Cloud’s 26-foot Searostrattus. Sea turtles, pigs, amazing snorkelling, and a tour around some of the other islands were all part of the adventure. This is something you’ll want to do.  After all, The Bahamas is world-renowned for its vivid, crystal-clear water, incredible marine life, coral reefs, and snorkelling.

There are also memorable foodie experiences to be enjoyed. Paranza, an Italian restaurant helmed by Michelin-starred chef Michael White, is one I recommend. The hospitality is gracious, and the food is both flavourful and creatively presented. The linguine, tossed in squid ink and topped with seafood, is one of the signature dishes at this Atlantis hot spot and it’s very tasty.

Café Martinique, also at Atlantis, is a very high-end dining establishment, and it was one of my favourites during the trip. French culinary style and fresh, local Bahamian ingredients are artfully combined here with delicious results.

In Nassau, Graycliff Restaurant is renowned for its refinement, distinctive Bahamian cuisine and, especially, its wine cellar. World-renowned, the wine cellar has an inventory of more than 250,000 bottles from thousands of vintners in 20 different countries. The food and service are also memorable at this fantastic, must-visit spot.

Finally, for getting everywhere you want to go in comfort, ease, and style, Ken of Ken’s Limo Services is the absolute best.
